When Noelie Houle
of Dartmouth, Massachusetts was stricken with a crippling arthritis
fifty years ago her doctor recommended goat's milk as a possible
cure. After drinking the milk for a few months the arthrltis miraculously
disappeared. Noelie Houle became known as "The Goat Lady"
in our community when she began to raise goats for the curative
power of their milk. "The Goat Lady" was 92 years old
when this picture of her and her favorite goat "Anna"
was painted. The painting is a tribute to her warm and humorous
spirit.
